New Veterans’ Minister visits London veterans

Richard Gammage, Chief Executive of the Sir Oswald Stoll Foundation was delighted to host a visit by the new Minister for Defence People & Veterans, Leo Docherty MP today [29th April 2021].

The Minister toured Stoll’s oldest housing scheme, in Fulham, where he met some of the hundreds of veterans helped annually by the charity, and was able to hear first-hand from them and from the Stoll staff about the delivery of the wide range of housing and support services which it provides to veterans, as it has done for the past century. The Minister also greatly enjoyed learning about the team effort put into the allotments (a feature of Stoll sites) in recent months and the contribution they make to health and wellbeing.

Richard echoed the sentiments of the veterans in welcoming the new Minister, and he thanked him for taking such an early interest in veterans’ housing.  The Minister said ‘I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Stoll, getting to know more about the work it does to support those in need amongst the forces family.  It was a great pleasure to meet Stoll veterans and hear their positive experiences’.
