Numeracy and literacy
Stoll, with support from the Barclays AFTER programme, provides numeracy and literacy skills training and support for vulnerable Veterans and their dependants.
Numeracy
Are you ‘good at Maths’ or do you avoid things to do with numbers, whether for work or in your everyday life? Would you like help to overcome some of your anxieties around numbers? We can offer you personal, one-to-one support to help you improve your numeracy skills and increase confidence in dealing with your bills, managing your money or getting the numeracy skills needed for a job.
We have signed up to the National Numeracy Challenge. Here you can test your numeracy skills level and access a wide range of bite-sized online learning resources. You can work with our Tutor, and in your own time and at your own pace.
Literacy
Is your confidence with reading and writing holding you back? Do you put aside letters and bills, or rely on others to help you with filling in forms? We can provide you with confidential, one to one support to improve your reading and writing skills.
I remember when … is a Stoll community project, a site for Stoll residents and others from the Veterans’ community to share their memories using the written word. Where the sharing of anecdotes and stories can support the development of writing and blogging skills.
Can I use this service?
