Curtain Call

On Tuesday 7 September, The Globe Theatre successfully led an outstanding performance ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ for Stoll’s residents and veterans. For many of our residents it was the first time experiencing a Shakespeare play. It was a performance to last from 2pm – 4pm with no intervals and lots of water and homemade cakes provided at the back on a mini table stand.

The stage was set and erect the day before on Stoll’s magnificent Mansion Gardens home to our residents. On the morning of, Stoll set up seating arrangements while The Globe team set up costume tents and cordoned areas restricting public access. Only weeks before, we arranged contingency plans in case of rain but instead enjoyed and basked in a gleaming 28 degrees. It was a joy to share the sunny afternoon with residents, staff and our friends from other Stoll sites.

Special thanks to The Globe Theatre, Stoll’s Fundraising & Communications team, additional staff and volunteers for acting as stewards and George Bageya, Health & Wellbeing Programme Manager for organising this amazing event.
