School’s Engagement Scheme

Are you a school local to one of our five sites in Fulham, Chiswick, Acton, Feltham or Aldershot? We would love to hear from you.

We would like to invite you to participate in our Schools Engagement Scheme, which will open up opportunities for intergenerational learning and understanding; that we believe would be of mutual benefit to both pupils and Veterans.

We understand that with the current Covid-19 restrictions, certain events would not be able to occur. We are currently interested in exploring virtual ways of engagement through online platforms with face-to-face engagements Covid-19 restrictions permitted.

Opportunities we would like to explore (All non-compulsory):

  • Our Veterans talking to School children about their Wartime experiences, in focus groups, face to face or online. Pupils taking part in events, i.e. Armed Forces Day, Remembrance Day, Summer BBQ’s or our Christmas Lunch.
  • School children teaching Veterans how to use tech, social media etc.
  • School children designing arts & crafts to commemorate Armed Forces related events to be displayed at Stoll in our main hall, in schools or online
  • Cross-cultural learning and understanding, through our sharing of stories with our Gurkha and Commonwealth veterans.
  • Fundraising activities to raise funds for vulnerable veterans.

Previous examples of Stoll engaging with schools include:

  • Harvest Festival: Veterans were very fortunate to receive baskets made by parents and pupils. In return, Veterans attended the school to thank and talk about their lives.
